Bio
My key role is to provide evidence-based, person centred care to each person I see. As a senior partner, I also have a wider responsibility to the practice and wider health system: ensuring that the practice continues to develop, all staff are valued and all patients have equal access to the care they need.
I worked in paediatrics for 5 years before retraining to be a GP. Since joining the practice in 2001, I spent 3 years as a Senior Medical Tutor for Newcastle University helping to shape the new GP modules for medical students and then 17 years in clinical informatics primarily in Gateshead, but since the outbreak of covid until 2023 on a more regional level. I am the clinical director for Gateshead Inner West Primary Care Network.
